ruce Lee said that the usefulness of the cup is its emptiness. He said that, ‘If you come to my martial arts dojo and you come in telling me what you already know, and you’ve already heard this before, and the rest of that stuff, then there’s nothing new I can give you.’
What Bruce Lee is saying is that you have to empty out your cup. You have to come with an empty cup, to take it in new.
I’ve read the book, The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace D. Wattles a few hundred times. Every time I read it, I read it from a fresh mind, not, ‘Oh, here we go again,’ or reading it so I can tell everybody how I’ve read it the most amount of times. Instead, I read it over and over again to take it in at another level.
So, I want you to hear what I have to say now with a fresh mind. It’s critical and crucial to having literally everything you want, and I think it’s not taken as seriously or as deeply as is necessary. By the way, you’ve probably heard me say this about 400,000 times, because it’s one of my coined phrases:
“The fortune is always in the follow through!”
We live in a very disposable society. Things are just thrown away. When I was a kid, a Tonka Truck was made out of steel. It was this toy truck you had forever. Not only did it last your entire childhood, but you usually gave it to a cousin, or a friend, or somebody else, or even charity, and then they used it for a whole childhood, and maybe even a couple of childhoods after that. Now it’s made out of cheap plastic, barely lasts a year in a child’s childhood, and it’s tossed away.
When I was a kid, milk came in bottles, and those bottles, you reused them. As a matter of fact, you gave them back to the milkman if you got delivery service, but you reused them over and over again. And now we just throw stuff away.
It’s the same with goals. You see people with them, and they just don’t stick with the. All of a sudden, they’re done with one goal because it didn’t work out, and then they’re off to the next goal.
You’ve got to stick with it.
You’ve got to have that passion.
Along the journey towards your goals, you’re going to get challenged. Things are going to get rough sometimes. Things are going to not happen as fast as you want them to happen, the rest of those things, but that’s life. You have to trust that there is a method to it all, and that it’s forcing you into growth.
If you really want something, and if you really desire what you want, you’re going to have to follow through, and you’re going to have to push through those challenging times.
So often you see people who start a business, and it doesn’t go as fast and successful as they want it to go right off the bat, and they quit. Then they join network marketing, and that doesn’t work either, so they don’t stick with that and quit.
Divorce these days, it’s so easy. People just get in a relationship, and then you face little challenges or difficulties, and they just toss it aside, like not really in there for the long haul.
There’s people who say, ‘But I don’t have anybody who believes in me, and that’s why I’m quitting!’
Well, I know that feeling, and I’m here to tell you that you got to keep going anyway. You got to keep pushing on.
There’s a quote from one of my favourite movies, called Cast Away with Tom Hanks. After he gets off the island after being stranded there for four years, he says, ‘You know, I had to keep breathing. That was my focus. I had to keep breathing, because eventually, the tide would bring something new in.’
Wow, what a great line.
You’ve got to follow through. You’ve got to keep going, and you’ve got to look for new strategies and new ways to do it.
My really great friend, and also used to be one of my private clients, got cancer some years ago. He called me up and told me, ‘Hey, I’ve been diagnosed with really aggressive cancer.’
I told him, ‘My friend, now is not the time to feel bad. Now is the time to kick into gear and follow through. You’ve got to be willing to put the fight on. You got to go at this, to heal yourself, and if it takes 20 years, you got to stay consistent with that. Anybody can give up hope now. Anybody can give up courage. Anybody can give in. But that’s not where winners are forged. Winners are forged who push through that. It’s the runner who’s tired during the run, and then puts on that little extra burst at the end that wins and gets all the results. Are you willing to put the fight in 20, 25 years if it took that?’
His answer was obviously yes, because my friend has since not only cured himself of cancer. And not only that, there’s s a law of nature that most people won’t talk about, called ‘In the nick of time.’ It’s when you’re playing that you’re going to follow through and you’re not backing down, and it’s funny how stuff happens at that last crucial moment. All because you didn’t give up and you didn’t give in.
So my friend has not only cured himself of cancer, he has found the most amazing woman who is now his wife, he’s happily married, and wow, do these two people live with love, joy and adventure. Because man, when you get scared with death it really hit you in the face. It’s funny how when you make it past that, you start to live at another level, right?
Some other clients of mine, a couple from New Zealand were trying for over a decade to have children, and even after numerous attempts, it wasn’t working – they were going through IVF and sadly experiencing miscarriages, etc. I said the same thing to them: ‘If it takes you 20 years to have a child, are you willing to play the game at that level, at that intensity, at that willing to not break, not stop, not fall down, and go for it?’
They said yes.
And guess what…
It was only a number of months before they fell pregnant with their beautiful son, who’s now probably 13 years old. What a wonderful experience.
Another client of mine cured himself with Tourette’s. Same thing. I said, ‘Hey, if it was going to take you 50 years to get rid of it, are you willing to put the game on?” And he said, “Absolutely,” and in a matter of months, he cured himself of Tourette’s.
My point here is the fortune in the follow through. You’ve just got to follow through!
Relationships, they’re easy to dump aside and just go find somebody new, a new flavour of the month, or, ‘Hey, I got a little challenge, let’s end this one.’ Okay, but you’re never going to get the long-lasting relationship that you want. You’re never going to get the goals that you want. You’re never going to have the successful business that you want if you’re not willing to follow through.
Now, sure, there’s times that you do let go of it. Obviously, if somebody’s beating you in a relationship, or cheating on you, etc., but that’s obviously somebody who’s not following through on the other end, when they got into the relationship saying, ‘I’m going to do what it takes to make this work.’
As you see, it’s always about the follow-through. We’ve all faced adversity in our life. We’ve all faced pain. We’ve all faced let-down. We’ve all faced disappointment. You can either be a victim to it or you can keep breathing.
I say keep breathing.
If you think my life doesn’t get challenged, that’s not accurate. Still to this day!
Just because I was in a helicopter crash, and just because I’ve had other things happen to me doesn’t give me the get out of jail free card. It’s life, and I’m still standing.
With all of the things I’ve gone through in life, I have people telling me that the reason I go through so much in my life is because it just makes better content for videos I do, and workshops that I give, and coaching that I do. I don’t know, but anyways, I’m still here!
I’m still breathing.
So you keep breathing too, because eventually, the tide will bring something new in.
The fortune is always in the follow through.
Keep following through.
Keep on keeping on.
Remember, the power is in the house!
Have a most outstanding day.
To be successful in life, you need to know how to manage fear.
And when I say successful, I mean being successful in any area of your life that you want.
Do you want a great relationship? And I mean a great relationship with the partner of your dreams where you feel loved and fulfilled everyday, and where you feel really excited about who you’re with?
Or maybe you have the desire to be healthier and fitter, have more energy and drive?
Maybe you want to be successful in your career, business or finances?
Whatever area you want to be successful in (and I say go for all of those areas of your life…that’s holistic success) you’re going to need to put what I’m about to discuss into action. You’re going to love what this will do for your life.
I get to help teach and influence millions of people around the world as one of the leading peak performance coaches on the plant, an international best-selling author, speaking in front of hundreds of thousands of people at live events, and being in front of millions of people through the media and web.
And one of the things I regularly get asked is, “Kurek, how do I get rid of my fear so that I can be successful?”
Here’s my answer: Don’t get rid of it. Amplify it.
Bet you weren’t expecting that! You see fear isn’t a good thing or a bad thing. It all comes down to what you do with your fear that determines whether it’s good or bad for you.
All successful people have fear. Everybody has doubts and insecurities. The key distinction between successful people and everybody else on the planet is that we learn to manage how we think and feel differently than the masses do.
We all go through the same stuff. Successful people just learn how to manage it. That’s the only difference.
You see, most people don’t fear failure, and that’s why they fail. They fear success.
With all the people that I’ve worked with over the years I’ve learnt that people fear success because they think people might find out that they’re not the genius that they thought they were. Or because they fear that they can’t uphold their success and then they’ll fail. People are more afraid of being successful than being a failure.
Here’s why. There’s a function of the brain where whatever it perceives to be painful, it moves away from. And whatever it perceives to be pleasurable, it moves towards.
So why are so many people struggling on the planet, and aren’t at the level of success they want to be at? Because of this brain mechanism that keeps moving them away from the “perceived” pain of success.
But see, if you had a fear of failure, instead of a fear of success, this same brain mechanism would drive you towards success, away from failure. Makes sense, right?
So the key thing here is to start amplifying your fear and get scared! I say be afraid of living an unfulfilled life. Be afraid of being stagnant. Be afraid of not achieving your goals. Be afraid of having your life just drip away until there’s nothing left of it, and be afraid of the regret that you’re going to feel of a great life that you missed out on.
If you start amplifying that fear right not, it’ll move you towards being successful. Make that decision now.
Think of the worst case scenario of what your life is going to be like if you don’t take the action towards moving towards your goals and dreams. That perceived pain will now be your thrust and your drive towards living the life you always dreamed of – being successful in any area of your life.
Picture this. You’re given the news that you only have one more year to live. You’re facing your death, and you’re going to be dead forever. How would you live this year? If that’s all the time you had left?
How would you live today if you knew it was going to be over?
Well, the truth is, your life is going to be over. I don’t know if it’s going to be this year, next year, ten years from now…who knows? Everybody that died today – people younger than us, the same age as us, older than us…everybody that died today probably wasn’t planning on it either.
So amplify your fear and use it to live the life you’ve always dreamed of. This is how you can manage how you think and feel from the masses.
You have to switch the poles of what you perceive to be pleasurable, and what you perceive to be painful.
Amplify the fear you have! Amplify the perceived pain about not changing now, and this is going to drive you towards success.
Plus remember to add massive amounts of perceived pleasure to taking the action and producing the results, and towards being that person that you want to be on the other side. Remember that when your brain links up massive amounts of pleasure to whatever it is you’re doing, it’s going to keep wanting you to move in that direction.
Remember that none of us are perfect. None of us are geniuses. None of us are calm, cool and collected all the time. The fact is, is that we all have fear, doubt and insecurities.
Use the fear of failure to force you into growth. Use it to help you to learn things, apply yourself, and operate at a different level that will lead you towards your grand dream goals.
Make the change now. Make this year the best and most fulfilling year of your life.
I hope this was of real value to you. Leave me a comment and be sure to let me know what other topics you’d like me to cover.

Managing any kind of change involves managing your mindset.
Right now, it’s the season of change and new beginnings. People are talking about all the excitement ahead.
What time of year are we talking about? For most people, they’re talking about the turn of the New Year.
What I’m talking about is any time of year. Any time of year is an exciting time to be talking about what’s coming up, what you’re going to produce and the newness that’s going to be created.
Living here in Australia, with an American accent, a lot of people have been asking me what I think about Trump winning the US presidential election.
Don’t worry…this isn’t going to be a political opinion blog!
It comes down to two candidates running for presidency – one wins, one doesn’t. The one that wins may not be the one you voted for, but that doesn’t matter anymore, because now they’ve already been voted into office.
And whoever got elected, whether or not you voted for that person or believe in their policies, now is the time for change.
Whoever got voted in, I hope they turn out to be the very best president that the US has ever seen and I hope that they’re going to create the best change that’s ever happened for the country. Now I’m not saying that I voted for this person and it doesn’t even matter who it is, which election, or which country that we’re talking about here. It’s about the hope that whatever the situation is, that it becomes the best situation possible.
Now is the time to shape your own destiny.
What we’re seeing is that a lot of people are upset about who made it into office, and there’s a lot of negativity being spread.
If you’re going to wish that president of the US does bad, guess who pays the price? You. And your country. The whole country has a problem. When a whole country has a problem, the whole world has a problem.
About 10 years ago I was very fortunate to spend some quality time with President Clinton. I asked him, “Sir, what are some of the biggest things you learn and notice by being President?” He said, “Kurek, the most important thing is to never wish bad against another country. Never hope that somebody else suffers or goes without, because when they do suffer or go without the whole world pays the price.”
President Clinton’s insight applies here and now too. While you may not agree with the policies of the newly elected presidents, you can still get behind them and help them become the best president that the country has ever seen, and help them make the most positive changes the country has ever seen. It’s the only way the country is going to get better and the only way that the world is going to get better.
It’s something that Wayne Dyer taught me years ago: when you change the way that you look at people, those people that you’re looking at will change. If you’re looking at that person who has been put into office thinking there couldn’t be a more worse scenario: if that’s the way you’re going to respond to the situation and the way you’re going to look at the person then that’s the reality that you’re going to create. Unfortunately you, the people in your country, and the people on the planet all pay the price.
If we’re not part of the solution, we’re part of the problem.
Whether or not it’s the person you voted for or not, now is the time to start changing your mindset. Now is the time to start changing the way that you participate.
One person can make a difference. One person can change the world. It starts with individuals.
Make the decision now that you’re going to add to the betterment of the government. That you’re going to add to the betterment of the president. If you’re thinking, “I don’t want to make him look good! That’s not who I voted for and I don’t want him to get the credit!”…who cares! That’s just a story and we don’t want to get caught up in that. We want to rise above that and make positive change in the world. And if you want things to change, you have to change first. The world’s not going to change by itself. “I must change first.”
We need to stand up to be counted, to make a difference.
The level of negativity about what’s happened is so strong. It’s affecting friendships because of differing political opinion. And if you’re going to be negative about the situation then you’re going to keep producing a negative situation.
So change you’re mindset right now. This applies to anywhere in the world, not just the US. Help your elected officials become the best that they can possible be, to make the best changes so that where you live becomes a better place, and the whole world becomes a better place.
